About the role
Join a team dedicated to improving the delivery of quality healthcare to Virtual Urgent Care patients. This is a full-time, seasonal Telehealth provider position licensed in New York. Onboarding occurs in October, with telehealth coverage from November 1 to January 31.
Qualified NP/PA hourly rate: $60/hour.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs within a telemedicine care setting and appropriately triage patients.
- Evaluate patients in a timely manner, prioritizing patient care over clerical duties.
- Perform thorough history and physical exams, creating individualized, evidence-based care plans.
- Consult the on-call WellNow physician and radiologist as needed.
- Manage payers across the spectrum of services provided.
- Follow evidence-based standards for ordering laboratory, radiology, and diagnostic studies.
- Use evidence-based resources for treatment options and prescribe appropriate medications.
- Consult and refer to primary care and specialty physicians when necessary.
- Perform procedures appropriate to the services provided at the standard of care.
- Educate patients regarding the disease process and discharge plan while maintaining confidentiality.
- Complete CME requirements and attend peer review and education update meetings.
- Serve as a resource in educating other staff members.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and clinical staff regarding patient condition and plan of care.
- Maintain professionalism by adhering to work schedules, dress code, and minimizing personal conversations during work hours.
- Maintain accurate patient records for clinic, medical, and billing use, completing charts within 3 days of shift.
- Ensure follow-up on incomplete diagnostic tests and attend required meetings.
- Participate in special projects as they arise.
Requirements
- 1+ years of emergency medicine, urgent care, telemedicine, or family practice experience, including managing adult and pediatric patients.
- Experience in both fast-track and main emergency department settings is ideal.
- Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, evaluate and manage patients, and lead a team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly, customer-service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program or an accredited university.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a New York state license at the time of employment.
- Willingness to obtain multiple state licenses as directed by WellNow.
Pay
$60/hour for qualified NP/PA providers.
Schedule
Full-time, seasonal role with onboarding in October and telehealth coverage from November 1 to January 31.
