Telecommunicator
About the role
The communication officer receives, prioritizes, and dispatches appropriate personnel to calls for service, for both emergency and non-emergency calls. This position must monitor, operate and assist in maintaining all electronic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Receives, prioritizes, and dispatches appropriate personnel to calls for service, including both emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Maintains and operates all electronic equipment as required.
- Assists in monitoring and ensuring the proper functioning of communication systems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working with the general public.
- Completion of assigned training programs as assigned.
- Emergency Telecommunication Experience (preferred).
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with office software.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with emergency response protocols.
