Telecommunications Specialist
About the role
A telecommunications specialist is needed to support various initiatives and projects involving WAN, LAN, VPN, and wireless environments. The role involves data analysis, report generation, network service request administration, installation coordination, and circuit lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Administer network service requests to vendors using Telecom Expense Management software.
- Schedule and coordinate network service installations based on project specifications.
- Execute the circuit implementation and disconnect lifecycle for new installs, migrations, and disconnects.
- Track daily tasks and report progress in Excel spreadsheets.
- Manage and resolve ServiceNow tickets to closure.
- Perform data analysis, capture metrics, and provide management reports.
- Cook up new upgrades and enhancements with vendors.
- Proactively communicate progress, timelines, and obstacles to project managers and management.
Requirements
- Education: An Associate's Degree and at least 3 years of IT work experience. Additional 2 years of work experience can substitute for the degree.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of applicable network experience and support. Strong customer service experience is essential.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of networking, including SD-WAN, data circuits, and network troubleshooting. Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams. Experience with ServiceNow, routers, switches, modems, and remote connections (VPN, Putty, SSH).
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain & maintain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
