Telecommunications BIM Designer

About the role

A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
Experience following client design and modeling standards
Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests
Willingness to learn new things

Responsibilities

• Follows client design and modeling standards
• Uses Bluebeam or similar markup software
• Estimates hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests
• Learns new things as needed

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industry

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment

Skills

• Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience (ideally)
• Understanding of data center environments
• Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom and audio-visual systems
• Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarms, access control, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television)
• Knowledge of control systems, network components and topology
