Responsibilities
- Lead the pricing and quoting process for RFPs, RFQs, and custom pricing requests across multiple vendors and geographies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Service Delivery, Engineering, Finance, and Sales to ensure accurate pricing and alignment with margin targets.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with carriers to ensure competitive market positioning while protecting margins.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities through access cost management, offsetting ETLs, and reducing pass-through fees.
- Support onboarding and integration of new carriers into the quoting ecosystem, ensuring systems, portals, and processes are up-to-date.
- Provide detailed analysis of carrier quotes, highlighting risks, dependencies, and savings opportunities.
- Ensure pricing accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external vendor agreements.
- Track market trends, carrier promotions, and industry benchmarks to ensure quoting remains competitive.
- Assist with reporting on quoting KPIs (turnaround time, win rates, cost savings, vendor performance).
- Escalate vendor or quoting issues as necessary, while maintaining strong professional relationships.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of telecom industry experience with a focus on quoting, pricing, or procurement of services such as DIA, MPLS, Ethernet, SD-WAN, Wavelengths, or Cloud Connectivity.
- Proven ability to manage quoting at scale for both enterprise single-site and multi-site opportunities.
- Strong vendor negotiation skills, with demonstrated success in achieving cost savings and favorable terms.
- Familiarity with quoting platforms, procurement systems, and carrier portals (e.g., Connectbase, MEF, direct carrier quoting systems).
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze quotes, margins, and cost structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and influence decisions at all levels.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in high-pressure environments.
- Experience working with global vendors and an understanding of international quoting and regulatory considerations.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong Excel and reporting skills; ability to track quoting KPIs and vendor performance.
- Problem-solver with a proactive mindset who can take ownership of initiatives with minimal supervision.
