Responsibilities
- Preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs and supporting documentation such as calculations.
- Coincides and prepares calculations, specifications, reports, design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas.
- Interfaces with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects as required.
- Adheres to project scope, schedule, and budget on all assigned projects.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards on all project work.
- Follows up on construction issues with field engineers to help resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner.
- Attends group meetings with staff as required.
- Incorporates safe work practices into all activities.
- Works with Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Manager and team to assist with project execution, work processes, and procedures to help continually improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Uses strong verbal and written communication skills with team members and clients.
- Uses interpersonal skills to build relationships with team members and clients.
- Possesses knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
- Estimates and assists in the preparation of bid packages.
- Attends scoping meetings as requested for projects.
- Mentors other designers/engineers in the group to increase knowledge of Telecom substation design.
- Checks/reviews other personnel work for accuracy and adherence to client/national standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or related, from an ABET accredited college or university is required.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of progressively responsible experience in 69kV to 500kV substation Telecom design is required.
- PE is preferred.
