Engineer Technician I

About the role

This entry-level position supports engineers on technical projects by collecting, maintaining, organizing, compiling, and manipulating technical data. The role involves creating, building, assembling, modifying, and repairing prototypes, as well as preparing engineering documentation such as reports, drawings, sketches, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics. The Engineer Technician I performs mathematical calculations according to engineering specifications and undertakes data analysis with provided guidelines. This position is aimed at individuals who are learning job skills and becoming familiar with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers by collecting and organizing technical data.
• Create and modify prototypes.
• Prepare engineering documentation including reports and diagrams.
• Perform mathematical calculations as per engineering specifications.
• Analyze data following standard practices and procedures.
• Recommend alternative solutions to problems and obstacles.
• Set up and conduct tests to assist with engineering analysis.
• Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, and other stakeholders.
• Review work requirements and provide engineering support during construction.
• Conduct root cause analysis of outages and use engineering principles for mitigation.
• Travel to sites for inspections and perform engineering design work.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering technology, CAD, or GIS is preferred.
• Power/Utilities experience is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience with field data collection is preferred.

Work Environment

This role involves both office and field responsibilities, requiring the ability to work in outdoor environments as needed. This is a fully onsite position in Greenville, SC.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
