Requirements, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Experience with transformers, generators, and circuit breakers.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to interpret complex data and diagnostic tools to optimize network performance.

Proven ability to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, challenge conventional methodologies, and identify new opportunities for infrastructure optimization.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

Experience with project management and budgeting.

Ability to conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.

Proficiency in technical report writing.

Experience with system simulations and modeling.

Ability to perform site inspections and assessments.

Commitment to safety and reliability.

Experience with renewable energy systems is a plus.

Strong computer skills, including MS Office.

Requirements

  • Education: 3-5+ years in Electrical Engineering or other related field. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Technical Requirements: Proficiency in power system analysis software, strong knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution, strong understanding of electronic schematics, fiber optics, radio systems, and electrical components, medium voltage (MV) systems — cable installation, splicing & terminating (5kV–35kV), low voltage — panel work, load calculations, service entrance, distribution, conduit, backup power systems: diesel/propane generators, UPS, ATS, SPD, rectifiers, DC plants, battery technologies: wet cell, VRLA, LiFePO4, BMS, fuel management systems (FMS) — commissioning, sensor repair, NOC telemetry.
  • Certification Requirements: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, walk and sit, stand, talk or hear, seeing, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, twist, and grasp, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, moderate noise level, traversing on foot to complete a task, use of upper extremities to maneuver, climb heights up to 28ft on ladder if required, exposure to extreme temperatures, subject to both environmental conditions, occasional off-island travel for training and certification.
