About the Role
Telecom Billing Specialist responsible for investigating billing discrepancies, reconciling invoices, and ensuring accurate telecom billing operations.
Responsibilities
- Investigate customer billing discrepancies to determine underlying causes and recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Examine telecom invoices and billing records to verify accuracy and identify inconsistencies.
- Reconcile missing, incorrect, or incomplete billing information to ensure accurate account records.
- Analyze large volumes of billing data using advanced Microsoft Excel functions and tools.
- Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and telecommunications carriers to resolve billing-related issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed documentation of investigations, corrective actions, and final resolutions.
- Provide leadership with clear updates, findings, recommendations, and escalation summaries as needed.
- Navigate multiple billing platforms, vendor portals, and internal systems to research and process billing information.
- Support initiatives focused on improving billing accuracy and enhancing the customer experience.
- Independently prioritize workload while adhering to established procedures, policies, and service standards.
- Respond promptly to high-priority billing issues that may impact customers or business operations.
- Identify trends in telecom charges and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring billing problems.
- Monitor the progress of billing corrections and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in telecom billing, telecom expense management, billing operations, revenue assurance, telecom financial analysis, or a related analytical role.
- Experience analyzing customer billing, reconciling billing discrepancies, and reviewing vendor/carrier invoices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify billing issues.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and communicating findings effectively.
- Ability to navigate multiple systems, billing platforms, and vendor portals while managing competing priorities.
