Position Overview
Gulfport Behavioral Health System is a specialty hospital providing a full range of treatment options for children, adolescents, and adults. The role involves conducting admission evaluations, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients. Responsibilities also include participating in daily treatment team meetings, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, completing required patient documentation, and supervising an NP on the unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.
- Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
- Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Supervise an NP on the unit.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in General Psychiatry or BC in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry (a plus).
- Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency and Child/Adolescent fellowship program (preferred).
- Licensure in Mississippi with a medical license and DEA in good standing or eligibility to obtain it.
- Experience must be comfortable treating child-adult populations, with a primary daily caseload of child and adolescent ages, and occasional adult cases.
- Leadership participation in meetings when requested by the CEO.
Compensation and Benefits
For W-2 employees, the position offers a competitive base salary plus benefits, paid time off (PTO), a sign-on bonus, and other perks. For fee for service positions, competitive rates are offered without benefits, with extra call options and a productivity bonus plan available.
