Technology Procurement Manager

About the role

We’re looking for a Technology Procurement Manager to join our Third Party Management and Procurement Team in Austin. This role focuses on the Technology category, covering Software, Hardware, Cloud Infrastructure, Data Services, Networks & Telco. You’ll leverage your commercial expertise to help deliver Wise’s mission of money without borders while ensuring our key deals deliver the best value for money.

Responsibilities

• Execute procurement strategies and conduct market research to understand industry trends and supply/demand shifts.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and assist in cross-departmental alignment meetings.
• Manage cost reduction and spend optimization efforts through analytical and financial support for sourcing projects.
• Coordinate supplier evaluation and selection using established criteria for quality, price, and reliability.
• Analyze contract and spend data to identify consolidation opportunities and prepare documents for contract renegotiations or new RFPs.
• Research sustainable and ethical sourcing initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Support the implementation of new procurement technologies and automation tools to enhance process efficiency.
• Actively participate in learning and development opportunities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations, promoting integrity and transparency.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and contribute ideas for improving Wise’s procurement processes.

Requirements

• Established experience forming commercial strategies, ideally in financial services or fintech.
• Exposure to the Technology categories in scope (Software, Hardware, Cloud Infrastructure, Data Services, Networks & Telco).
• 3+ years of experience in procurement process execution, running and scoring RFPs, and negotiating directly with suppliers.
• Project management skills for delivering strategic sourcing projects.
• Ability to contribute to achieving commercial targets.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams.
• Foundational understanding of risk management to identify and flag potential risks.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn sourcing tools, market analysis, and end-to-end procurement processes.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented approach to problem-solving.

Work Eligibility & Model

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
• Hybrid role requiring at least 3 days in the Austin office (not fully remote).
• First 3 months require 100% in-office presence.
