About the role

The Technology Commercial Development Expert will play a pivotal role in maximizing the value of Aramco's technologies through internal and external Intellectual Property (IP) commercialization. This role aligns closely with the company's strategic business and sustainability goals by ensuring innovative technologies are effectively translated into market-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and align R&D technology programs with long-term business objectives to ensure global competitive differentiation.
  • Perform market validation of specific use cases and value propositions for emerging technologies.
  • Provide strategic leadership in developing and delivering comprehensive commercialization plans, including IP exploitation, competitive landscape analysis, and make versus buy decisions.
  • Build and maintain strategic external technology engineering partnerships to accelerate R&D outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and techno-economic evaluations that support corporate decision-making.
  • Prepare and present detailed materials for stage-gate reviews, including strategy options, risk assessments, and commercial viability analysis.
  • Ensure alignment across all functions involved in the R&D lifecycle, including technology, business, and project management teams.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Have 10+ years of experience in technology commercialization or a related specialty, including at least 5 years in product development, technology marketing, and energy-related and/or software-related technology licensing.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and drive value-focused technology strategies.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities, with a proven track record in commercializing technology solutions.
  • Experience in IP mapping, competitive analysis, and risk management in the context of R&D projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to deliver clear, actionable insights to senior leadership and navigate complex decision-making processes.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in product development, technology marketing, and energy-related and/or software-related technology licensing.

  • Strong background in IP mapping, competitive analysis, and risk management in the context of R&D projects.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
