Technology Analyst 1 (Rapid Application Development) - Public Safety

About the role

The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) supports more than 4,900 applications for 53 New York State Agencies. The Technology Analyst 1 (Rapid Application Development) will serve the NYS Waterfront Commission.

Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack applications using Microsoft's .NET framework and related technologies, including C#, ASP.NET, and Entity Framework.
• Create and maintain scripts in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, deployment, and post-implementation support.
• Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code in accordance with design specifications.
• Test applications for performance, reliability, and correctness, working closely with the application users.
• Perform unit testing to validate the functionality and usability of the developed code.
• Use SQL Server for data analysis and troubleshooting.
• Work directly with users to provide comprehensive technical support for new and legacy applications.

Requirements

• Five (5) years of *information technology experience, one (1) year of which must be within the appropriate specialty.
• Associate’s degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or a related field substitutes for one year of general information technology experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field including or supplemented by fifteen (15) semester credit hours in computer science or a related field substitutes for three years substitutes for three (3) years of general information technology experience.
• Master’s degree or higher in computer science or related field substitutes for one year of general information technology experience.
• Experience transforming or building applications in the NYS agencies, NYC government, or Federal government technology projects.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in application development using .NET, frameworks, and technologies, including five (5) years in C#.NET and technologies, and five (5) years in MS SQL Server.

Skills

• Experience within one or more of the following information technology disciplines: artificial intelligence, cloud solutions, human centered design, product management, quality assurance, rapid application development, robotic product management, geospatial information services.
