About the role
The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) supports more than 4,900 applications for 53 New York State Agencies. The Technology Analyst 1 (Rapid Application Development) will serve the NYS Waterfront Commission.
Responsibilities
- Develop full-stack applications using Microsoft's .NET framework and related technologies, including C#, ASP.NET, and Entity Framework.
- Create and maintain scripts in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code in accordance with design specifications.
- Test applications for performance, reliability, and correctness, working closely with the application users.
- Perform unit testing to validate the functionality and usability of the developed code.
- Use SQL Server for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Work directly with users to provide comprehensive technical support for new and legacy applications.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of *information technology experience, one (1) year of which must be within the appropriate specialty.
- Associate’s degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or a related field substitutes for one year of general information technology experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field including or supplemented by fifteen (15) semester credit hours in computer science or a related field substitutes for three years substitutes for three (3) years of general information technology experience.
- Master’s degree or higher in computer science or related field substitutes for one year of general information technology experience.
- Experience transforming or building applications in the NYS agencies, NYC government, or Federal government technology projects.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience in application development using .NET, frameworks, and technologies, including five (5) years in C#.NET and technologies, and five (5) years in MS SQL Server.
Skills
- Experience within one or more of the following information technology disciplines: artificial intelligence, cloud solutions, human centered design, product management, quality assurance, rapid application development, robotic product management, geospatial information services.
