Job Responsibilities
- Performs imaging procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods as requested by a licensed physician.
- Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
- Develops an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
- Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established protocols/guidelines.
- Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures.
- Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Participates in departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.
- Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
- Completes assigned goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Specifications
- Experience: Minimum Required: Completion of an Ultrasound program. Preferred/Desired: Minimum Required: Completion of a formal education program in sonography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARDMS or ARRT or CCI. Preferred: Associates degree in related field.
- Education: Minimum Required: Completion of a formal education program in sonography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARDMS or ARRT or CCI. Preferred: Associates degree in related field.
- Licensure: Minimum Required: Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or American Registry of Radiology Technologists ARRT (S), or ARRT (VS), or ARRT (BS), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International CCI RVS; BLS Certification within 14 days of hire; New graduate will obtain required registry within 120 days as required; State license as required.
