About the role
The laboratory performs highly specialized procedures to prepare cellular therapy products while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. Technologists play a crucial role in supporting cellular therapy treatments through product processing, collaboration with a multidisciplinary clinical team, and adherence to rigorous regulatory and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex cellular therapy processing, cryopreservation, product evaluation, and quality assessment procedures
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team to support cellular therapy treatments
- Ensure adherence to rigorous regulatory and quality standards
- Participate in research, validation, and process improvement initiatives that advance the field of cellular therapy
- Handle irreplaceable, patient-specific products with exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent experience)
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department
- ASCP certification
- Transfusion Medicine or Cellular Therapy experience
Qualifications
Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to work independently are essential. This is a day shift position 10:00am-6:00pm, located at our Weill Cornell Medical Center on Manhattan’s East side.
