Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist I is a Licensed Medical Technologist whose primary responsibility is to perform laboratory testing on patients' samples. In this capacity, the CLS performs the preanalytical, analytical testing phases and post-analytical and is responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance, and all reporting and documentation.

Pay Range

Pay Range: Minimum $45.72 Midpoint $60.58 Maximum $75.43 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience Required

  • New Graduate - Clinical Laboratory Scientist Training Program.
    • Preferred: Previous healthcare experience.

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or Clinical Laboratory Science.

Training Required

  • American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.

Specialized Skills Required

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with computer.
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Able to operate/troubleshoot basic equipment required for the position.

Licensure Required

  • Clinical Lab Scientist-CA (CLS).
  • Either must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
