Technologist Assistant – Full-Time, Mid-shift

About the role

UVA Health Outpatient Imaging Culpeper (OIC) is seeking a Full-Time Technologist Assistant to join our outpatient imaging team in Culpeper, VA. Status: Full-Time. Location: 509 S. Main St., Suite 100, Culpeper, VA 22701. The Technologist Assistant supports our imaging technologists, helps maintain efficient patient flow, and provides a positive and comfortable experience for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with check-in, screening forms, preparation, transport, and positioning.
• Start IVs under the direction of a nurse or technologist and in accordance with applicable state law.
• Review patient information and communicate questions or concerns to the technologist.
• Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and provide compassionate support throughout the visit.
• Follow imaging and MRI safety protocols and communicate potential safety concerns.
• Help maintain efficient patient flow and minimize wait times.
• Assist with stocking supplies and preparing clinical areas.
• Maintain appropriate documentation in RIS and PACS.
• Support technologists and other imaging areas as needed.
• Participate in required meetings, training, and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate communicates well, works collaboratively, and is willing to step in wherever needed to support patients and the imaging team.

Requirements

• EXPERIENCE: Certified Phlebotomist and/or Medical Assistant experience required.
• EDUCATION: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: BLS certification required within 60 days of hire. Certification in phlebotomy and/or Medical Assistant.

Pay

$19 - $25 per hour

Schedule

Mid-Shift with occasional Saturday coverage
