Technician Warehouse

About the Role

This position is responsible for receiving and maintaining inventory of materials used by field crews, using inventory software to track items. You will assist the Supervisor Warehouse in ensuring proper storage of materials, maintaining yard cleanliness, and conducting inspections or periodic audits as needed. Additional duties include assisting with laborer/material handler tasks and, depending on location, administrative functions such as collecting timesheets, verifying form accuracy, and supporting the Office Manager or Coordinator Billing with other office-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare orders for shipment according to pick tickets and customer requirements.
  • Check and verify inventory to ensure availability of needed stock.
  • Notify the Supervisor of shortages and packaging material restocking needs.
  • Package and ship products according to packaging guidelines and practices.
  • Stock shelves in the warehouse and put away new materials.
  • Organize pick tickets and cross-check them with packing slips and work orders.
  • Receive, unload, and inspect shipments; confirm accuracy with packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
  • Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record.
  • Able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
  • Must pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack is preferred.
  • Must attend and pass all company-required training as needed.
  • May be required to work after hours, on weekends, or be on-call as work is needed.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

  • Warehouse or material handling experience related to organization and inventory of materials.
  • Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to make common-sense decisions to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or drawing form.
  • Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in varied situations.
  • Ability to collect, organize, disseminate, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including measurements of distance, proportions, percentages, and area.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, including algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety rules, machine manuals, and process procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers at all levels of management.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • General computer knowledge.

Physical & Safety Requirements

  • Duties require standing, crouching, sitting, bending, using hands and fingers, and reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
  • Regular standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding, or stooping during the shift.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Exposure to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, inclement weather, and adverse driving conditions.
  • Required to lift or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Potential exposure to dust, fumes, or other airborne pathogens, toxic or corrosive chemicals, and moving machinery parts.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay

The Technician Warehouse hourly wage range is $18.00 - $26.00, depending on experience.
