Technician, Timing & Calculations, $20/Hour, Winter 26-27

About the Role

Sets up and tears down timing equipment for a variety of race events, runs the equipment, and times the actual events. Ensures the accuracy and precision of all timing data. Produces timing reports and results for all USSA/FIS sanctioned events. Maintains and repairs all types of timing equipment and the wiring system. Assists in other aspects of event/race production, including setting up gates, banners, removing obstacles, and tearing down gates, fencing, and signage at the end of the day or event. On-the-job training and supervision by an experienced timing technician are provided.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down timing equipment for race events.
• Operate timing equipment and ensure accurate event timing.
• Produce timing reports and results for USSA/FIS sanctioned events.
• Maintain and repair timing equipment and wiring systems.
• Assist in event/race production, including setting up gates, banners, and removing obstacles.
• Tear down gates, fencing, and signage after events.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent experience.
• Computer literate, highly organized, accurate, and strong math background.
• Ability to effectively communicate with racers, race officials, coaching staff, co-workers, and ski area guests.
• Knowledge of race procedures and regulations is desirable.
• Good skiing or snowboarding skills required.
• Ability to perform general repairs on timing equipment; electronics background strongly desirable.
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $20.00 to $21.47.
