We are seeking an RF Technician to work at our San Jose, CA facility. The role focuses on microwave circuit alignment and test, and subsystems test to meet shipping schedules. The technician will support production activities within a group concentrating on advanced microwave subsystems for applications including missile front ends, radar receivers, wide-band tuners, and synthesized sources.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of microwave subsystems and circuit card assemblies in a production environment; carefully review data for compliance.
- Conduct RF tuning, troubleshooting, and testing on multi-function thin film microwave integrated circuits (MICs); review data for compliance.
- Follow production documentation and processes, including keeping detailed records of testing and rework performed.
- Actively participate in daily production meetings and interface with manufacturing engineers.
- Collect and document test data; provide feedback to manufacturing engineers on production products.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience troubleshooting, testing, and tuning RF equipment.
- Familiarity with microwave test equipment including network/spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, power meters, and DVMs.
- Ability to use small hand tools such as tweezers and torque drivers; experience working under a microscope.
- Good written and verbal skills; ability to carefully follow written instructions.
- Computer skills including file manipulation, file organization, accessing and launching programs, and basic Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Must be a “US Person” under US export laws (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status under asylum or refugee status).
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Electronics, trade school, or technical education and 5+ years of experience, or 8+ years of work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to solder small surface mount and through-hole parts (IPC 610 certification a plus).
Schedule
- 3rd shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM.
- May be eligible for a 9/80 schedule.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is $34.25–$42.84. For California, the annual base salary range is $59,000–$73,800. Actual compensation considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
