Technician, Ride & Show Maintenance - Universal Kids Resort

About the Role

Responsible for attraction recovery, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Universal Kids Resort attractions, show and water play areas. Troubleshoots all ride and show mechanical aspects and systems following OEM specifications. Assists with repair of animation, special effects, and water elements.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and assists in the recovery and repair of attractions, show effects, and water play areas.
• Troubleshoots down to failed components using schematics, leak detection equipment, vibration analysis, and other specialized tools.
• Performs preventative and predictive maintenance as prescribed by OEM or engineering team specifications, including changing time-limited parts, calibrating equipment, and maintaining filtration systems.
• Handles disassembly, repairs, and replacements of mechanical components during annual inspections on ride vehicles; verifies quality control and NDT requirements before reassembly.
• Completes inspections and creates work orders for discrepancies found.
• Notifies Ride & Show Management following the correct chain of command when necessary.
• Performs repairs to address safety, reliability, or show quality issues identified during maintenance, inspections, or downtimes.
• Implements modifications per engineering team, OEM, or third-party specifications.
• Documents all findings and work performed during troubleshooting and repairs; reports labor in Maximo.
• Acquires skills in additional disciplines to support operational and project needs.
• Completes PQS qualification across UKR’s attractions, shows, and water play areas.
• Trains new Technicians on venue-specific PM work orders, recovery procedures, and processes.
• Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed.
• Actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following UDX policy and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Technical degree in a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in the theme park industry or other industrial settings; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment and maintain consistent attendance.
• Willingness to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends, to support seasonal maintenance initiatives.

Training will be provided prior to performing inspections.
