Technician, Refrigeration/HVAC
About the role
Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders, support Stores and Store associates, and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines by following Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.
Requirements
- 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance or 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance/construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
- Vocational or Technical HVAC/R certification (if less than 4 years of experience).
- Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met. Eligible for bonus incentive.
