About the team
The Facilities Management HVACR team oversees maintenance and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems across Walmart locations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The team collaborates to evaluate new technologies, troubleshoot equipment issues, and manage energy systems. They provide training to enhance technical skills and maintain quality standards. Working closely with suppliers and contractors, the team optimizes resources and supports continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and manage workloads with external service providers to support facility needs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA and OSHA standards.
- Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, and procurement to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Compile and report budget information, warranty claims, and project scopes for HVACR equipment replacement.
- Collaborate with management, coworkers, and business partners to prioritize tasks and communicate progress.
- Provide expert guidance on HVACR best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Valid HVAC and EPA 608 Technician certifications demonstrating compliance with industry standards.
- Strong knowledge of refrigerant handling, inventory management, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience conducting inspections, preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment safety and efficiency.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with management, coworkers, and external partners to meet operational goals.
- Skilled in compiling reports, managing budgets, and developing scopes of work for HVACR projects.
- Commitment to upholding safety policies, environmental guidelines, and company values in daily operations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Vocational or Technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls OR
- 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
- Type I and Type II Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
