About the role

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for sampling raw materials, in-process materials, reserve sample arrangements, related documentation, and other tasks as assigned by management. The technician works independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively in a team environment under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Sampling of components (raw materials) and timely completion of related documentation.
  • Assist management with approval or rejection of components.
  • Review documentation, including test results for components, to ensure material meets specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to GMPs and SOPs; perform sampling, inspection, and documentation review activities as required.
  • Determine disposition of components and release or reject as appropriate.
  • Arrange reserve samples and complete related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assist management in conducting formal procedural inquiries and investigations to determine the cause of quality problems; recommend corrective actions as required.
  • Interact effectively with co-workers, management, and vendors to resolve problems.
  • Assist management with the development of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Produce high-quality laboratory data.
  • Empowered to stop an analysis that may produce poor-quality results as required by ISO 17025.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED (required).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a regulatory environment such as food, pharmaceutical, or dietary supplements.
  • Knowledge of basic GMP and QA/QC for the food, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry.

Skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
  • Computer literacy with solid PC and software experience.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Strong ability to work independently and as a team member under pressure in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous knowledge and understanding of quality compliance.
  • Experience working in a dietary supplements manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or science discipline.
