About the role
The Technician, Quality Control supports fragrance manufacturing operations by performing routine quality control analyses, documenting and reporting results, and assisting with the processing of quality-related deviations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine quality control testing of fragrance raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and reference materials required for laboratory testing.
- Accurately document analytical and observational results in laboratory records and quality systems, ensuring data integrity.
- Review test results for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to reporting.
- Conduct first-level out-of-specification (OOS) testing following established procedures.
- Identify deviations, trends, or recurring quality issues and escalate them to the appropriate quality or operations personnel.
- Support investigations related to quality deviations, non-conformances, or customer-related quality concerns.
- Maintain assigned laboratory equipment, including routine calibration checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
- Follow applicable GMP, safety, and quality standards relevant to fragrance manufacturing and laboratory operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a quality control laboratory, preferably within fragrance, flavor, cosmetics, or specialty chemicals manufacturing.
Skills and Competencies
- Familiarity with fragrance QC testing practices, including physical, chemical, and basic sensory evaluations.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in documentation and data handling.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to written procedures and specifications.
- Effective communication skills for reporting results and escalating quality issues.
- Foundational knowledge of GCMS systems with experience in reviewing raw materials and finished fragrance products.
Pay
Base Salary: $67k-81k
