Job Responsibilities
- Practices the Medication-Use Process: Procures, handles, prepares, distributes, charges/credits and disposes of medication safely and accurately.
- Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
- Maintains inventory management.
- Uses and maintains automation/equipment.
- Provides education/training as appropriate.
- Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
- Contributes to goals, programs and report cards for operational unit and entity.
- Completes assigned goals.
Specifications
- Experience: Minimum Required: Advanced competencies in any of the following: 1. Settings where the majority of the workload consists of gathering and processing patient / clinical information for prior authorizations, refill authorizations, or patient assistance applications. 2. High risk compounding, 3. Tech check tech 4. Med history 5. NICU/Pediatric 6. Other duties that require certification / program completion (i.e. Narcotic/ASHP Diversion Certification).
- Preferred/Desired: Experience with Microsoft suite applications, automated pharmacy equipment. One year hospital experience.
Education
- Description: Minimum Required: Skills in communicating clearly and effective use of standard English in written, oral and verbal format. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
Training
- Description: Minimum Required: Technician training program/academy

Licensure
- Description: PTCB certification required; registration with the state board of pharmacy
- Minimum Required: CPhT or Enrolled in an ACPE accredited School or College of Pharmacy
