Technician Medical Surgical - Cardiology- Hudson Valley MG

About the role

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on operational needs. The role is primarily located in Cortlandt Manor, with potential travel and coverage required at other Hudson Valley Medical Group locations in Cortlandt Manor, Croton-on-Hudson, and Cold Spring.

Responsibilities

• Observe patient’s condition, report abnormal conditions to staff nurse, and record appropriate documentation in patient’s records.
• Measure and record patient height, weight, and vital signs (pulse, blood pressure).
• Perform routine vision and hearing examinations.
• Draw blood from patients and/or perform finger sticks to obtain specimens as requested by physician or registered nurse.
• Perform EKGs.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles to create and maintain a sterile field.
• Use technical skills regarding positioning, wound care, and dressings.
• Maintain stock items for examination and phlebotomy rooms, including forms used by clinical staff.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a surgical practice setting.
• Graduate of a State and/or Nationally accredited Medical Assistant Program (preferred).
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (preferred).

Pay

Salary Range: $29.70–$35.65 per hour.
