Technician-Medical Laboratory Seasonal

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens to ensure accurate and timely test processing.
• Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing and routine instrument maintenance and inventory control and document as required.
• Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical error and/or adverse patient outcomes.
• Affords assessments, evaluations, and draws appropriate conclusions.
• Follows regulatory requirements, competency requirements and maintains safe laboratory practice.
• Completes assigned goals.

Specifications

• Experience:

• Minimum Required: Clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Preferred/Desired: Minimum Required Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited MLT program, or successful completion of at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist.

• Education:

• Minimum Required: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited MLT program, or successful completion of at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist.
• Preferred/Desired: Minimum Required Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited MLT program, or successful completion of at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist.

• Special Skills:

• Minimum Required: Basic computer literacy.
• Preferred/Desired: Minimum Required Basic computer literacy.

• Licensure:

• Minimum Required: Full certification must be obtained within six months of hire date.
