Technician- Maintenance III USA (Crew B)

About the Role

Performs all necessary maintenance of the facility, equipment, and grounds in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner. Assists in planning and scheduling daily work assignments for maintenance technicians. Mentors junior technicians in repair procedures and writes repair specifications when requested. Responsible for accurate and complete reporting of all work performed on their shift in the CMMS system. Reports directly to the shift maintenance supervisor and checks/approves all completed work orders. Works overtime as needed to train and certify junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Repair of all manufacturing equipment (current and future) and effective troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior technicians in on-site service and repair of process equipment and facility maintenance.
• Communicate parts inventory levels and assist in evaluating/certifying junior technicians for promotions and training.
• Set an example for maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and servicing all energy sources for equipment, implementing the preventative maintenance program.
• Collaborate with other departments and vendors.
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety practices on all work assignments.
• Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
• Train maintenance technicians and ensure all work is recorded in CMMS with complete documentation of spares, labor, and downtime.
• Attend shift pass-down meetings to communicate work-related information.
• Perform other assignments as required by supervisor/manager, including substituting for the Lead and assisting Equipment Engineers with projects.

Requirements

• High school graduate with one of the following:
  • 2-year technical school in Electrical and Maintenance field, or
  • 2-year associate degree or equivalent program in a technical discipline, or
  • 8+ years of maintenance experience, or
  • 5 years’ experience with a degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Basic understanding of SPC and Process Control Techniques.
• Project leadership and previous supervisory experience is a plus.
• Proven communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to read prints and suggest modifications as required.
• Proven electro/mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, vacuum systems, and laser operations.
• Knowledge of building codes.
• Vacuum troubleshooting and leak detection skills.
• Ability to read schematics and perform basic electronic troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements

• Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
• Will climb stairs on a frequent basis.
• Will lift up to 58 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 37 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Will push or pull up to 27 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 10 pounds of force on a frequent basis.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis.
• 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green.
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
• May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
• Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., steel-toed shoes, cut-resistant gloves, jackets, aprons, arm guards, safety glasses, hearing protection).

Pay

Estimated salary range: $30.05 - $42.81 USD per hour.
