What We Need To provide technical support in the Configuration Department Work Location: This is an onsite position based in El Paso, Texas. The selected candidate must be able to work onsite at the designated location. What You'll Be Doing Perform the following duties Configuration of handheld, tablet, laptop, PC, router and similar product linesParticipate in the installation and upgrades of the various computer products hardware and software accurately and completely as defined in the build instructionsReview the work order and staged material confirming correct components and accurate quantities are inducted into the work flowScan the required data points to update the shop floor control system, create asset or other required labelsApply all required labelsInstall and validate all integrated hardware on the bill-of-material Connect to networks or web sites to download updates or configurationsSet and configure bios and firmware Locate and load appropriate system drivers Configure and validate the required software including the OS, IOS, ISP or custom software image or packages. Run and validate hardware and software diagnosticsMaintain and exceed productivity goals for the department. Ensure specified processes, procedures and reporting methods for each customer are followed. Perform Level II troubleshooting and quality inspectionEnsure work flows smoothly. Plans work methodically. Train associates on integration procedures when necessaryParticipate in regular housekeeping initiatives and daily cleaning maintenance.Standards & documented procedures are adhered to at all times. All - Health and Safety All Accidents are reported to management and/or the Health and Safety representative immediately.Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the Distribution centre by ensuring all work areas are clean, orderly and in compliance with Health and Safety practices. Advocate of “clean as you go”.Promote safety by identifying and promoting potential safety risks and providing recognition.Should a Health and Safety concern be present, inform management and/or Health and Safety representative immediately.Participate in regular housekeeping initiatives and daily cleaning maintenance.Remain accident free. Working Conditions Normal levels of stress and mental exposure.Able to concentrateAble to lift and move product weighing up to fifty (50) pounds on a regular and consistent basis Able to work shifts (stay late when necessary)Able to stand for long periods of timeDistribution Centre environment What You Will Need To Be Successful High School DiplomaOne to two years of related work experience required Preferred Qualifications Associates/Bachelor’s degree in a technical or computer related discipline A+ CertificationOne to two years PC system configuration of both hardware and software in a UNIX or Windows/DOS environment. General knowledge of name brand hardware installation processes.
