Responsibilities

  • Act as a safety champion by intervening when unsafe acts are practiced and always promote/demonstrate safe behavior and practices.
  • Assist Site and QSE management in determining root cause analyses (RCAs) and corrective actions for investigations.
  • Complete all assigned safety training and utilize all required PPE as outlined in Work Instructions and the QSE Manual.
  • Provide input regarding discrepancies found in Work Instructions or PPE sheets.
  • Support continuous improvement activities, including the development of best practices.
  • Build and foster effective internal partnerships across departments.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus, improving satisfaction and loyalty; escalate complex issues to higher-level technical staff or management as needed.
  • Navigate and input required data through MyTime, MyTask, and cost allocations (e.g., Service Orders).
  • Use online tools such as Toolkit, SAP, VOB, VGA, VIS, and VTM proficiently.
  • Understand and monitor dashboard metrics (e.g., alarms, warnings, fleet, service orders, labor efficiency, new site start-ups, TNT, FIFT, and other Insight metrics).
  • Navigate and use Insite Toolbox for troubleshooting and mentorship.
  • Follow Work Instructions and propose adjustments or improvements (e.g., PTP).
  • Complete TSL and CIR entries and follow up as required.
  • Manage specialty jobs, including crane work and CIM projects.
  • Take advantage of available tools to grow and learn with team support.
  • Promote and foster a strong team environment across technical staff and partner departments.
  • Assist teammates in accomplishing operational objectives and mentor lower-level technical staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of technical wind industry experience OR, in its absence, three (3) years of experience with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, or composite skills OR six (6) months of technical wind industry experience plus a certificate from a Wind Technician program.
  • Internal candidates: Completion of LOTO II, D-Service, TBC Core 100 & 200, and Turbine-specific 100 & 200 training.
  • External candidates: Must complete required training within six (6) months of hire.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices and protocols (e.g., Confined Space, Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, as well as associated tooling; ability to train others on these tasks (e.g., fluke meter functions, hydraulic pressure gauges).
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a passport preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and work a flexible, variable schedule to meet business objectives.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand basic drawings and schematics to validate work activity and mitigate risks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and other software programs.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Competencies

  • Ability to constantly climb stairs and ladders 60–125 meters (200–400 feet) in height to access work areas.
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently walk, stand, look up/down, balance, stoop, twist, kneel, and bend.
  • Ability to constantly grip and manually manipulate tools and turbine parts, often with repetitive motion.
  • Able to work in demanding physical conditions and inclement weather.
  • Comfortable working remotely in a turbine with limited supervisory interaction as part of a team.
  • Total weight while wearing all required PPE and gear must not exceed 300 lbs.
