About the role

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. We are a proud Second Chance employer that evaluates every candidate on a case-by-case basis. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment or equipment rental background. Intermediate experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines on heavy construction equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain industry and Sunstate safety standards during equipment repairs.
• Learn and grow through training on new equipment, technologies, and repair techniques.
• Use basic tool set and computer diagnostic software.
• Welding methods may be required depending on the job.

Requirements

• Necessary basic tool set for equipment repairs.
• Attention to detail.
• Intermediate experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines.
• Basic understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-evolving industry.
• Safe and reliable driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a drug screening.

Skills

• Intermediate experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines.
• Basic understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Safe and reliable driving record.

Pay

Pay Range: Dependent upon Experience + Quarterly Branch Performance Bonus

Typical Schedule: Monday – Friday 7AM - 4PM (Overtime Eligible)
