About the Role
The Shop Technician II primarily works in the shop making repairs to equipment as required. This is a skilled, experienced technician role with the ability to work autonomously, synthesize problems and provide solutions. This individual will also be responsible for assisting in training and mentoring other technicians.
What You Will Do
- Assemble and break down, clean new or used equipment, inspect, repair and test grease and paint equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Execute general shop maintenance such as cleanup of shop, work area and equipment
- Perform shipping and receiving responsibilities
- Responsible for the safety of self and others including reporting of all work-related injuries, near misses, equipment damage and unsafe acts as soon as practicable to supervisor or senior technician. Adhere to and exercise Stop Work Authority and Management of Change
- Troubleshoot, repair, reassembly and testing based on customer communications
- Operate, handle, and lift shop equipment and tools and products up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain SPM Oil & Gas company supplied assets and any other equipment, including site specific equipment, as it relates to company policy
- Maintain a professional appearance and work attitude at all times
- Demonstrate the ability to perform independently or in a team setting
- Available on 24-hour call to respond to customer needs on special occurrences
- Perform occasional required work in the field
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Demonstrate consistency, accountability, reliability, and solid work ethic
- Working knowledge of oil and gas equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot electronics
- One year of equivalent work experience or training
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration
- Noise Level: Moderate
Pay
Starting Pay: $21.90, additional based on experience. Summary Pay Range: $21.90 - $29.30.
Schedule
Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 24/7 on call, currently working every other Saturdays. Overtime based on business need.
