Technician II, Logistics (34811)

About the role

This position reports to the warehouse lead and involves working directly on the loading dock and with the production line to handle ingredients, packaging, supplies, finished goods, and other items.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload ingredients, packaging, finished goods, equipment, supplies, and other items for shipment to and from facilities or outside sources.
• Move and accurately record the movement of raw materials, packaging, supplies, finished goods, and other items to and from the warehouse, freezer, cooler, and production lines.
• Accurately record all movement of materials using issue and return tags or RF scanning equipment.
• Organize orders for shipments and complete all required paperwork.
• Complete and/or update row tags and report shortages of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to supervisors.
• Perform cycle counts and remove line waste.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area.
• Wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good manufacturing practices.
• Perform other duties as required or directed.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively.
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, round decimals, measure, and input numbers to calculate formulas.
• Must pass a written exam and physical testing before being awarded the position.
• Must obtain Forklift and Motorized Pallet Jack Certification.
• Must have a valid, company-insurable Driver’s License.

Skills

• Regularly required to sit, walk, use hands, fingers, and arms to handle, feel, and reach.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 110 pounds with team lift.

Work Environment

• Works in a plant and general office environment.
• Required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• May be exposed to loud noise from plant machinery, extreme temperatures, wet/humid conditions, inclement weather, oils, and airborne particles.
• May be required to work near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, high or precarious places.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
