Technician I, Maintenance

About the role

Support the company’s maintenance program by focusing on plant equipment and building maintenance in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies and OSHA regulations. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, driven individual to learn the skills required to be a great maintenance technician.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, HVAC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with plant equipment (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives).
• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Perform building maintenance and repairs (e.g., air conditioning, lights, forklifts).
• Perform small repairs on equipment to prevent long‑term downtime until permanent repairs can be completed.
• Report on food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel.
• Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience or willingness to learn pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Willingness to obtain a boiler’s license and an electrical maintenance license.
• Ability to accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices.
• Well‑rounded mechanical skills and experience.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical degree in a maintenance‑related field, MN Special Engineer Boiler License or higher, or refrigeration experience preferred.

3rd shift, 10 pm – 6 am
