Responsibilities

  • Install fiber services at customer homes, including termination, splicing, and testing.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
  • Manage work orders independently, meet SLAs, and document job details.
  • Perform splicing and identify faults using fiber loss testing.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and fiber components.
  • Provide professional service and educate customers on fiber technology.
  • Follow safety protocols and company policies during all field operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in fiber optics are a plus.
  • Minimum of six (6) months to two (2) years of experience or training in fiber splicing and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic systems and customer premise equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and on call as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Daily analysis and interpretation of data, communication, and stationary work for significant portions of the day.
  • Regular movement around the office and corporate campus.
  • Frequent movement of up to 10 pounds and occasional movement of up to 25 pounds.
  • Daily outdoor work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or wind.
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Tolerance for exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and uneven or slippery surfaces.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) during all applicable tasks.

Travel Requirements

Standard daily travel to assigned territories is required for this position (up to 30% of the time within a 10-mile radius).
