About the role

This position offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced water treatment technologies under the guidance of a global leader in environmental services. The role involves operating, monitoring, and optimizing industrial equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and carrying out troubleshooting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and optimize industrial equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on a variety of systems and equipment.
  • Perform analytical testing such as: turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, and other site-specific testing requirements.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts.
  • Create and maintain site paperwork, and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed.
  • Carry out mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation.
  • Partner with customer management and operations teams to help advise on system performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Be available to help at multiple sites including Nyrstar, Chemours, TVA Cumberland Gas and Fossil, TVA Paradise, TVA Browns Ferry, and mobile sites in the area.
  • Travel may be required for Veolia development training but will not exceed 1-2 days.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Able to be on call for emergency services on a rotation.
  • Able to gain and maintain access to the customer sites (including Nuclear).
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Science/Engineering/Chemistry or a technical certificate in Instrumentation, Controls, or programming and/or water treatment equipment, including PLC control systems, PLC programming, and troubleshooting preferred.
