Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and adjust plant critical equipment, such as motors, circuits, valves, and required analyzers
- Calibrate instrument/analyzers to desired range using proper test equipment and calibration standards
- Provide field instrumentation support for all process equipment
- Develop work plans covering installation, calibration, inspection, and troubleshooting tasks, to minimize production impacts and enhance the reliability of the operation
- Assist in maintaining instrumentation
- Participate in incident investigation and corrective action development as a part of a continuous program improvement
- Support other mechanics and operators
- Repair, test, and calibrate control valves for proper operation
- Troubleshoot and repair light circuits
- Troubleshoot a complete loop from measuring element to final control, both electronic and pneumatic, element
- Use PCs/mainframe computers to maintain records of calibrations, SPC charts, part ordering, etc.
- Communicate with co-workers, team leader, and other departments on status of projects and equipment (verbally and/or in writing)
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years full-time practical experience in process instrumentation in petrochemical, refinery, pulp/paper or a related industry
- OR Two (2) year Associates technical degree in Instrumentation, electronics, computer repair, process control, or other related technical field
- OR successful completion of the ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Program or equivalent certification
- All applicants MUST be able to acquire a TWIC card
