Under direction of the Associate Director of Facilities, the Technician I maintains the cleanliness and safety of the school environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, hallways, and classrooms throughout the day, ensuring a hygienic and safe space for students and staff.
- Respond promptly to radio calls for clean-up emergencies and secure the building as directed.
- Empty garbage and recycling containers regularly, maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Remove snow and salt walkways in winter; ensure the yard and playground are free of debris during warmer months.
- Assist with moving furniture, basic maintenance, painting, and exterior maintenance (raking, mowing, site clean-up, trimming shrubbery, etc.).
- Comply with safety and environmental regulations and procedures, including handling chemicals, solvents, blood, body fluids, and/or body tissues.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Assist with cafeteria preparation and minor maintenance repairs as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-3 years of work-related experience in maintaining a clean and organized environment, preferably in a school setting.
- CPR Certification (can be obtained during employment).
Pay
$18.57/hour.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:15 am to 3:45 pm.
