Technician I

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs independent, routine, or repetitive assignments using a variety of simple techniques and standard work procedures.
• Troubleshooting of equipment to identify/diagnose problems.
• Equipment tear down, repair and reassembly using hand and air tools.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping practices.
• Able to travel to remote job site locations as needed.
• Occasional international travel as needed.
• Participation in the rotational on-call schedule.
• Active participation in FET’s HSE program.

Skills/Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of hydraulics & mechanics.
• Must have a mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and comprehension skills (verbally and written).
• Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve independently.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to change direction as needed.
• Capable to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.

About the Role

This position is a part of an on-call rotation and may require travel to remote job site locations as well as, occasional international travel. Active participation in FET’s Health, Safety and Environment program is required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 3+ years’ experience in a mechanical based role.
• Experience related to hydraulics preferred, but not required.
• Prior experience with drilling rigs considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Active participation in FET’s HSE program.
