About the role

Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines, inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures, observing and documenting signs of wear and tear, gathering capital expense information, recommending repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs, determining replacement needs, and documenting preventive maintenance activities.

Performs major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills, for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment, inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues, dismantling equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts, diagnose problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary, utilizing hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment, providing prompt response to emergency calls, and documenting repair activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information, for example, expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs.
  • Conducts price comparison of parts and travel-related costs, orders parts and replacement equipment, and tracks orders, records purchases and usage, submits warranty claims.
  • Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines, ensures quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensures contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements, identifies and reports deficiencies, unloads and stores equipment, and transports equipment between facilities.

Requirements

  • Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
  • Or 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
