About the role
TEAM is seeking an experienced, technically capable, and safety-focused Field Machinist to lead and perform machining work scopes within the assigned service level qualification.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety procedures and job documentation.
- Set up and operate a wide variety of portable machine tools to perform on-site machining at client work sites.
- Execute and lead field machining operations in accordance with technician certification, following company processes and procedures to achieve or exceed quality expectations for:
- Pipe cutting and bevel
- Flange facing
- Drilling and tapping
- Milling
- Line boring
- Key-way cutting
- Shaft turning
- Metal disintegration bolt removal
- Attend and complete required training to maintain and improve skills, competence, and knowledge.
- Identify circumstances requiring proper safety procedures and equipment.
- Document all field machining service activities as required.
Requirements
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in refinery or plant environments, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing (or other communication capabilities) to communicate effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation to perform investigations, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to perform routine duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform duties and travel to off-site locations, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to maintain focus, multitask, and communicate effectively.
Work Conditions
- Position is based out of a TEAM field office or client site location.
- Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
- Interaction with crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
- Work in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Must wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- May work at multiple job sites in a day and must tolerate climate changes.
- May require periodic out-of-town travel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Technical school, industry, or relevant training preferred.
- One or more years of experience preferred.
- Driving License and TWIC Card preferred.
