Field Machinist

Responsibilities

• Machinist required to repair, maintain, install and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pumps, agitators, fans, centrifuges, etc.)
• Ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment
• Execute preventive maintenance program
• Calibrate, align and make adjustments to production equipment

Qualifications

• Include HS diploma
• Field machinist or millwright training and demonstrated experience
• Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment
• Able to work in confined spaces
• Able to work from heights from a ladder or man lift
• Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/machine drawings
• Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out
• Good communication skills – daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed.
• Good team player – willing be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed.

Working Conditions

• Work hours are Mon. – Fri., 8 hour days (40 hours/week) with occasional overtime
• Available for call in on off hours as needed to make equipment repairs

Education and Experience

• Minimum Education Level And Experience: 2 year schooling and/or 5 plus years of demonstrated experience

Pay

Estimated Salary: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour

Schedule

Work hours are either days shifts or the Fireman’s rotating schedule. Mon. – Fri., 8 hour days (40 hours/week) with occasional overtime Rotating fireman’s schedule is (2 (12hr) days then 2 (12hr) Night shifts followed by 4 days off. Available for calling in on off hours as needed to make equipment repairs
