Position Summary

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and efficient exterior facility operations. This role ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations while managing equipment, performing seasonal maintenance, and coordinating repairs.

What you'll do

  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety protocols and certification requirements.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow and ice management to ensure safe facility conditions.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to meet operational standards.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and documentation to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Cook up purchases, control costs, and submit warranty claims for parts and equipment.
  • Lead third-party providers, coach associates, and conduct performance evaluations to support team development.
  • Implement upgrades and improvements to enhance facility sustainability and reduce operating costs.

The Facilities Management HVACR team ensures the efficient operation and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple sites. They oversee repairs, technical training, and budget management while coordinating with suppliers and contractors. What you'll bring

  • Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Experience in managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer service issues effectively.
  • Able to prepare and manage budgets, including cost estimates and purchase approvals.
  • Competence in coordinating third-party providers and leading teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with management and support teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
  • 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.
  • Able to obtain an Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
