About the role

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and efficient exterior facility operations. This role involves operating heavy machinery, performing seasonal maintenance including snow and ice management, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The technician supports cost control through effective resource management and collaborates with management and third-party providers to uphold quality standards. Additionally, the position requires troubleshooting, customer service, and coordinating repairs to sustain facility functionality and safety in alignment with company policies and operational goals.

What you'll do

  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety and certification standards.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management, to ensure safe facility conditions.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to meet operational standards.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Cook up and submit warranty claims for purchased parts, materials, and equipment.
  • Lead and coach third-party providers, fostering professional development and performance evaluations.
  • Communicate effectively with facility users to resolve concerns and support event needs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies to maintain a safe and ethical work environment.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience operating and maintaining heavy machinery and powered equipment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relevant to facility exterior services and environmental guidelines.
  • Able to manage budgets, conduct cost comparisons, and approve purchases for parts, materials, and equipment.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, customer service, and resolving facility-related issues effectively.
  • Competence in coordinating third-party providers and leading teams to ensure quality and safety compliance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to support associates and management in achieving operational goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
  • No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
  • Ability to read and speak in the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.
  • Able to obtain an Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
