About the role
Maintains and repairs Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges. Mentors, trains, and assigns tasks to other personnel.
Responsibilities
- Completes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair tasks.
- Mentors, trains, and assigns tasks to other personnel.
- Diagnoses equipment failures under supervision.
- Ensures equipment operates safely.
- Takes direction and seeks guidance from senior personnel.
- Provides direction, guidance, and expertise to other personnel.
- Conducts training and mentoring responsibilities.
- Acts as lead in absence of senior technicians and supervisors.
- Reads and interprets repair manuals, schematics, and supervisor/manager's instructions.
- Works in tight and/or high spaces with appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Fulfills additional duties as assigned by management.
- Assists with basic maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and greasing.
- Completes all safety training as assigned by the company.
- Complies with all company and federal policies and procedures.
- Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
- Performs additional duties/assignments as required by management.
- Reads, writes, speaks, and understands English.
- Obtains and maintains an Airport Security badge.
- Holds a valid driver’s license and is insurable under the company’s insurance policy.
- Complies with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
- Works safely and promotes a safe work environment.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience.
- Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
- Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges.
- Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.
- Basic computer skills at an intermediate level in working with Microsoft Windows to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of previous industrial mechanical and/or electrical background.
- Minimum 1 year experience with PLC logic and/or Industrial HVAC certification.
- Advanced computer skills.
