What You Will Do
- Conduct laboratory tests and experiments to support research projects
- Analyze results and report findings to researchers and management
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, including ordering and tracking inventory
- Coordinate routine maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical equipment; schedule and perform instrument calibrations
- Execute quality testing programs for raw materials and finished goods
- Assist in plant trials and qualification activities of raw materials
- Participate in method and specification development/revisions
- Manage internal raw material positive release programs, through sampling/testing of materials, review of inbound paperwork, warehouse receipts and COA compliance to specification
- Lead investigation in nonconforming events and complete reports capturing these incidences
- Author department analytical reports and SOPs
- Drive continuous improvement activities within the department
- Assume additional related responsibilities, as necessary
Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Requirements
- Intermediate skills in computer to work within Quality databases, entering and analysis of data
- Able to work independently and interdepartmentally
- Good communication skills with internal or external clients
- Sound ethics
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in science-related field preferred; plus 1-2 years minimum industry experience working in Food Safety/Quality Systems, food manufacturing preferred
- Associate's degree in science-related field preferred; plus 3 years minimum industry experience working in Food Safety/Quality Systems, food manufacturing preferred
- High School Diploma; plus 4 years minimum industry experience working in Food Safety/Quality Systems, food manufacturing preferred
