Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver four-day instructor-led Technical Writing Course for two sessions of up to 20 SUPSHIP QA personnel each.
- Develop and deliver curriculum covering: Foundations of Technical Writing; Writing Mechanics, Grammar, and Sentence Construction; QASpecific Documentation, Document Design, and Use of Templates; Editing, Proofreading, Documentation Lifecycle, and Capstone Exercise.
- Tailor course content to the SUPSHIP/NAVSEA environment incorporating QA terminology, document types, and workflows relevant to shipbuilding, repair, and engineering oversight.
- Integrate Government-furnished sample documents, templates, SOP excerpts, or documentation standards into training materials if provided.
- Employ instructional methods including facilitated discussions, individual and group writing exercises, real-time editing demonstrations, peer review, and scenario-based learning.
- Prepare and deliver all contractor deliverables: course syllabus/agenda, training materials (slides, templates, worksheets), editable source files, 508-compliant PDFs, end-of-course evaluations, certificates of completion with CEUs, and post-training summary report.
- Issue CEUs (minimum 2.4 per 24 hours of instruction) through an accredited or industry-recognized provider.
- Cook up with Government TPOC (Robin Rose) on logistics, A/V compatibility, and GFI.
- Comply with all base access and security requirements including DBIDS enrollment.
- Bring personal laptop for instructional purposes; training shall not exceed 8 hours per day inclusive of breaks and lunch.
Minimum Qualifications
- Higher education or certification in technical writing, communication, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years teaching technical writing; demonstrated experience in engineering, defense, or government environments.
- Ability to issue CEUs through accredited/industry-recognized provider.
- NAVSEA/SUPSHIP QA documentation experience; adult learning methodology expertise.
- Verification of U.S. Citizenship, teaching credentials/resume, sample training materials, and ability to issue accredited CEUs required prior to offer.
