Technical Writer - Grants and Agreements
About the role
We are seeking a Technical Writer to support the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service’s Grants and Agreements division in North Carolina. This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative assistance to the Region 8 Fire and Aviation Group by providing advice and assistance on proper utilization of Agreements.
- Organize material and complete assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology, and maintains records and files of work.
- Review financial statements and advise the Region 8 Fire and Aviation Group on the proper use of funds.
- Revise or advise on the revision of standardized material for Grants and Agreements Documentation, Scopes of Work, financial plans, and other related materials.
Qualifications
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently without sponsorship.
- A High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of (10) years of relevant experience.
- A thorough understanding of Federal Grants and Agreements, their terminology, structure, process, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent reading comprehension and professional writing skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised following general direction.
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently.

Pay
The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This position is part-time, (16) hours per week, on Tuesday and Thursday.
