Technical Writer (Contract)

About the role

This is a document-purchase opportunity rather than a new writing assignment. We are looking to buy high-quality technical writing documentation that you have previously completed. You will submit five content-dense, human-written samples that you authored and have the right to sell, and we will review each one for a potential purchase offer.

What you'll do

• Submit exactly five substantial examples of technical documentation you previously wrote, such as API references, developer guides, product manuals, tutorials, runbooks, or troubleshooting content
• Choose content-dense documents with specific technical context, implementation detail, constraints, examples, and decisions; each sample must contain at least 1,000 readable words
• Confirm the samples are primarily human-written by you and can be reviewed for quality and human authorship
• Remove confidential, personal, client-restricted, employer-owned, or otherwise unauthorized information before uploading anything

Required qualifications

• Currently based in the United States
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Five previously completed, high-quality technical writing documents that are primarily human-written by you
• Ownership of the samples or explicit authority to share and sell them; do not upload work owned by an employer or client without written permission
• Ability to explain complex technical systems clearly with accurate structure, terminology, examples, and supporting detail

Preferred qualifications

• Samples containing API references, developer guides, product documentation, tutorials, knowledge-base articles, runbooks, or similar technical work
• Experience with docs-as-code workflows, Markdown, Git, content management systems, or documentation tooling
• Documentation with real-world technical depth across software development, cloud infrastructure, data systems, hardware, or AI products
